Republic Of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, With Bronze Palm – South Vietnam Made

A Vietnamese Decoration, instituted in 1950, issued to U.S. soldiers for deeds of valor and acts of courage and heroism while fighting the enemy; the palm represents the level of the medal and subsequent awards. This is a really nice Vietnam War period example; a quality strike with an excellent bronze finish, excellent detail and a very large, nicely detailed, bronze palm, which is attached to the, theater made, ribbon by means of two, long, thin wire prongs. The backside of the ribbon has a, French style, double wire prong attaching device. Beautiful condition, no defects or detractions. Nice period piece. Unused. Excellent++. $39.00 SOLD
56th Transportation Company – Large Size, “Beer Can” Type, Insignia – Theatre Made

1VNM-2. 3-1/4 inch wide x 2-1/8 inch high, shield shaped metal insignia with a, multi-colored, painted enamel finish depicting the number “56,” in the center of a U.S. Army Transportation symbol, which is superimposed on Army Senior Pilot wings, which are below the motto, “Find’M-Fix’M-Fly’M,” The 56th Transportation flew CH-37 Mojave recovery helicopters out of Tan Sun Nhut, Vietnam. The front of the insignia exhibits very minor signs of age; the painted finish is in excellent condition. One of the two clutch-back attaching pins is missing from the backside. A beauty. Excellent. $55.00

1st Aviation Brigade, Vietnam, “Beer Can.” DI – Theatre Made
Beer1stAviBde.JPG (46054 bytes) 1VNM-3. 7/8-inch wide x 1-5/16-inch high, thin metal insignia with a, multi-colored, painted enamel finish depicting the shoulder patch of the 1st Aviation Brigade. The unit was formed in 1966, as a Regular Army Unit, for service in Vietnam. The unit was formed in 1966, as a Regular Army Unit, for service in Vietnam. Their mission was that of supporting U.S. and Allied forces, including, but was not limited to, combat assaults, medical evacuation, aerial reconnaissance, fire control, etc. This DI has been used; it is slightly out of shape and has numerous nicks, dings and some flaking of the painted surface. Both clutch-back attaching devices are present on the backside. Vg-. $19.00
II Field Force, Vietnam – Large Size, “Beer Can” Type, Insignia – Theatre Made

1VNM-4. 1-11/16-inch wide x 2-1/8-inch high, heavy, shield shaped metal insignia with a, thick, multi-colored, hard enamel finish depicting the patch design of the 2nd Field Force Vietnam. The II Field Force, Vietnam, arrived in Vietnam on March 15, 1966,andbecame one of the largest Corps level commands in the history of the US Army and was responsible for Military Region 3, which encompassed the 11 provinces surrounding Saigon. The front of the insignia exhibits very minor signs of age; the enamel finish is 100% intact. Both clutch-back devices are present, (one has been re-attached). A large and impressive looking insignia. Excellent. $55.00

117th Aviation Company, (Aslt Hel) - Toros  – Large Size Metal Insignia, “Beer Can” Type, Insignia – Theatre Made

1VNM-5. 2-1/2-inch wide x 3-inch high, thin, metal insignia with a, multi-colored, painted enamel finish depicting a, “patch-like,” design of a coiled Cobra snake superimposed on a helicopter in the center with the word, “Cobra,” above the design. Upper tab reads, “117th Avn Co (Aslt Hel);” lower tab reads, “Toros.” The front of exhibits light age, as well as, light to moderate scuffs and scratches and paint bubbles. It appears that the insignia is unfinished, as the design is not completely cut and finished around the edges and there never were any attaching devices affixed to the backside, (could have been made for a plaque). Vg-. $35.00

Airborne Qualification Wing Marked Sterling, D-22 – U.S. Made
AbnWingD22Ss.JPG (39308 bytes) 1VNM-6. 1-1/2-inch wide x 13/16-inch high, basic Army Airborne qualification badge with silver oxide finish. The backside is constructed to have a hollow area behind the parachute; the back also has double clutch-back posts with dimpled fasteners and is stamped, “Sterling D-22.” Insignificant age and wear from very light handling and use. Excellent. $39.00 SOLD
