| Ever-Ready Shaving Brush, In
Original Every-Ready Box – Originally Packed In Government Contract
Master Box. |
 |
2UPI-21. Brown bristle shave brush with black Bakelite base. The
bottom of base is lightly inscribed, “Ever-Ready, Trade Mark, Made In
U.S.A., Sterilized.” The brush comes in its original blue, “commercially
designed” cardboard box which, also contains a four-page brochure with
instructions for care and use, as well as, advertisements for Gem razors and
Gem razor blades; very nice period graphics on the box and brochure. We
removed this boxed brush, from a GI master box of 12 brushes, marked, “12
Brushes, Shaving, Stock No. 29-B3090, American Safety Razor Corporation.”
These brushes are, WW2 period, commercially produced shave brushes that were
pressed into service and destined for WW2 GI’s. The cardboard box may have
some creases and pushed in spots from storage, (we will send the best
condition boxes out first). The brochure is in near excellent
condition; the paper shows minor age and may have some brown foxing spots
from age. The Bakelite base had white deterioration, which we easily cleaned
off with regular household detergent. The bristles are excellent and just
the way they came from the factory, as we were the first to take them out of
the box for inspection. The printing on the master box; details of the
shave brush box and brochure can be seen in the multiple view page by
clicking on the thumbnail image. A perfect item for a WW2 GI’s
personal item collection or a footlocker display. Very limited supply. Unused.
Overall excellent. $35.00
