headquartered at Camp Beale, California. European
Theatre of Operations; Le Harve, Rose Pocket, Bavaria, Danube River, Braunau,
Austria, Inn River. The 13th Armor Division participated in two campaigns;16
days in combat, loosing over 1,600 men. While in Austria the unit actually
maintained a command post in the house where Adolf Hitler was born. The
number 13 and the Black Cat designation proved to be very
unlucky omens for the enemy when they crossed the 13th's path. The unit
spent a short period of time in the occupation of Germany then returned to
the U.S.A. for training and possible duty in the Pacific Theatre. Unused.
Excellent. $15.00
