 |
1OC-1.
The front of this medal depicts, in high relief, a winged woman
standing above four lions; the bronze finish on the front is lightly
scratched an moderately worn to near base metal from handling and possibly
from polishing; the highlights are moderately worn and it has a overall
age patina. The backside retains most of its original bronze finish; some

dings, scratches, as well as some, dark, age spots, but not enough to be a
major consideration. The metal is suspended from a multi colored ribbon,
which has no attaching device; the ribbon is machine sewn along the top
edge. The ribbon is clean, intact and in overall near excellent condition.
A nice example. Overall about Vg+. $35.00

| WW2 Kingdom of
Belgium, Military of Justice War Crimes Commission Booklet of War Crimes
Committed During Von Rundstedt’s WW2 Counter Offensive in the Ardennes,
in the Belgium Town of, “BANDE,” December 1944 – January 1945 |
 |
1OC-2. 6-inch wide x 9-1/2-inch high booklet published in 1945,
in Liege, Belgium, Gerorges Thone, Editor. Orange colored pulp paper
covers, 31 pages of text, as well as several photographs and a few
illustrations, which chronicles rampaging, murderous German soldiers, (SS
soldiers), killing civilians, as they searched for Americans hiding in
this very small town in Belgium, right in the middle of the Battle of the
Bulge. The text is extremely concise and
accurate, providing names and the particular circumstances that placed
each person, as well as complete families in harms way, resulting in their
death. It’s a very emotional read, (but you won’t be able to put it
down), which presents a side of WW2 that’s not taught in any history
book and, at this date, has become blurred in the passing of time. The
covers are moderately aged, worn and soiled, around the edges, from
storage; there is a water stain on the upper left corner. The pulp paper
pages have yellowed from age and some pages are lightly soiled, however,
they are in surprisingly good condition; they are overall intact and not
damaged. A very important historical booklet. SCARCE.

| Pre WW2 Bulgaria Field Artillery Unit History / Yearbook, 25 September 1932 – 5 October
1935 |
 |
1OC-3. A
Bulgarian unit history / yearbook for, what appears to be, a Field
Artillery training unit for Bulgarian artillery officer candidates or
Bulgarian artillery NCO’s. 9-3/4-inch wide x 6-1/4-inch high semi hard,
smooth, paper covered covers with “faux” elephant skin, (or other
exotic animal), design and tied with a gray cord with two tassels. 60
pages containing captioned photographs; the first few pages have a unit
photo, as well as photos of officers, accompanied by full color,
“slightly comical,” caricature illustrations of the camp and daily activities;
the illustrations are executed in what appears to be colored pencil and
watercolors. Each remaining page has a captioned photograph of one,
“trainee,” accompanied by a black & white caricature of the person
in the photo; the following page may have a colorful illustration of the
trainee in a comical or compromising situation. It is interesting to note
that in several of the illustrations the Bulgarian soldiers are wearing,
what appear to be, German WW1 style helmets. The covers are in near
excellent+ condition; they are intact and exhibit extremely light signs of
age and very minor wear; The high quality paper pages are in excellent+
condition; they have just a hint of edge yellowing and some light finger

| WW2
Canadian Combat helmet, Size 7-1/2, Dated 1942 |
 |
1OC-5. The
exterior of the helmet retains approximately 95% of its original, smooth,
olive green, official re-painted finish, which exhibits light overall age,
as well as light surface scratches, scuffs, rubs, minor paint blemishes and
light chipping and wear to the paint on the rim; the paint appears to have
been very lightly sanded to remove the paint sheen, (nothing seriously
detracting). The metal interior retains 98%, or more, of its original,
smooth, matte olive green painted finish, which, exhibits light and
insignificant age, as well as very minor surface scratches, scuffs, rubs,
and minor paint blemishes, (all very minor). The adjustable, spring-tension,
light colored khaki, woven cotton web chinstrap with blackened brass buckle
and blackened brass hardware is completely intact and in excellent, clean,
condition; the chinstrap assembly is attached to the helmet with a
rectangular metal loop that fits into a flat metal hook type fixture, which
Is riveted to the helmet rim. The interior liner is constructed of black
rubberized material and has an adjustable drawstring to provide a custom
fit; there is also a large, black rubber like pad in the crown, which
provides some protection and comfort to the top of the head. Eight, equally
spaced, pieces of hard black rubber are fitted into the helmet liner,
between the black oilcloth liner and the inside edges of the steel helmet;
they also provided some padding and absorbed some of the blow if the helmet
was struck by a projectile or debris. The liner assembly is secured to the
helmet by four black fiber bands, which are affixed to the helmet by a large
brass bolt in the center top. One of the fiber bands is clearly stamped,
“7-1/2, V.M.O, I, 1942.” The inside metal rim is similarly, clearly,
stamped, “C.L./O. 1942, 97.” The exterior would rate Vg to near Vg+; the
interior, as well as the chinstrap, liner and other interior parts are in
excellent + condition and do not appear to have had much use, if any. A
very nice example. $59.00 SOLD

approximately 1-7/8-inch wide x 1-7/8-inch high with two swords, crossed
