Enlisted Man Stamped Pebbled Aluminum Buckle With Leather Tab Dated 1938 |
 |
3GU-21. Stamped aluminum buckle with overall pebbled finish.
Embossed Luftwaffe eagle and swastika within an oak leaf wreath on a
stippled background. The eagle is very heavily worn; parts of the
background behind the eagle and the surrounding wreath are moderate to
heavily worn. The backside is maker marked, “J.D.,” The backside
exhibits light soil and is heavily worn, in some spots, from actual use.
The very dark brown leather tab has been re-sewn onto the buckle at some
time, it exhibits moderate to heavy signs of age; it’s completely intact
and appears to have been oiled at some time; the leather is stamped, “L.B.A.,
J Deutscrbe, Euskrichen,” (Euskichen is a town located in south west
Germany), and is dated 1938, (the date is very clear, however, a few of
the letters of the trade name are not completely legible). A very
worthy representative example with lots of character. Good+. $80.00

| Waffen SS
Enlisted Man, Silver Painted, Stamped Steel Belt Buckle |
 |
3GU-23. A one piece, stamped steel buckle exhibiting the
distinctive SS eagle and swastika insignia within a circle and
bearing the SS motto, “Meine Ehre Heist Treue!” A classic
example, which includes a nicely detailed swastika and wreath; clear
lettering and detailed eagle. Approximately 25%, or more, of the original
silver paint remains on the front of the buckle, which is overall heavily
aged and exhibits moderate, (heavy in some spots), wear and scratches from
handling and use; some spots are worn through the paint to the gray
looking base metal, which has darkened and has dark red rust patina, in
some of the worn areas. The backside will smoothly accept any original WW2
German leather belt; the buckle is complete with its round metal belt hook
catch with flat welded ends and double belt-adjusting prongs. The backside
retains approximately 70% of its original silver paint; the paint is
moderately worn to base gray metal, in some spots, from the rubbing of a
belt; the backside also exhibits moderate spots of light rust and deep red
rust patina. Unmarked as many of them were. This buckle has seen some
activity. A very sound example that’s 1000% guaranteed to be an
original, WW2 period, SS buckle. SCARCE. Vg-. $295.00 SOLD

| WW2 German Fire
Department Officer Buckle For The Province Of Hessen-Nassau |
 |
3GU-24. 1-7/8-inch
in diameter, one piece, stamped, gold washed, alloy buckle; the center of
the buckle depicts the heraldic shield of the province of Hessen-Nassau,
superimposed on a stippled disk, within an acorn and oak leaf wreath The
backside is deeply hollowed and has one belt keeper and a metal tongue,
which attaches to the keeper on the belt. The buckle is in excellent
condition, exhibiting no signs of wear; it’s aged and the gold wash on
the front has tarnished to an, overall, deep bronze patina; there is
nothing left of the original gold color. You don’t often see WW2 German
Fire Department officer buckles. About Excellent. $95.00

Enlisted Mans Afrikakorps/Tropical Stamped Steel Buckle |
 |
3GU-25. A heavy stamped steel buckle with a, smooth, dark olive
green painted finish associated with buckles used in the Afrikakorps and
other tropical regions. The center of the buckle depicts a German Army
eagle and swastika design; as well as, “Gott Mit Uns” wording and
wreath. This specimen exhibits moderate to heavy signs of age, as well as
moderate wear to the center design and the highlights of the buckle, (lots
of nice detail still remains); approximately 40% of the original olive
green paint remains on the front, the paint is worn to base, aged, steel
in may areas. Approximately 80% of the original olive green paint remains
on the backside; the paint is aged and dusty from use and storage; this
example has the, spot welded, bent metal wire type belt hook catch. The
buckle is marked, however, it is worn and not legible; I can see the
letter “B” and the number “4.” A very sound and worthy
representative example with lots of detail still present. Unmarked.
Good+. $80.00 SOLD

| Early Hitler
Youth Buckle – Stamped Steel, Nickel Plated |
 |
3GU-26. Stamped
steel buckle with a, bright, nickel-plated finish; the center of the
buckle depicts, in high relief, the German Hitler Youth eagle standing on
a diamond design with a swastika in center; the Hitler Youth motto,
“Blut und Ehre,” (Blood and Honor), is embossed within a circular
border. This specimen exhibits moderate, (heavy in some spots), signs of
age, as well as light to moderate surface wear on the center design and
wording, (lots of nice detail still remains). The front f the buckle
retains approximately 80% of the original silver-plated finish, which
shows tiny spots of black peppering coming through the finish, as well as
red rust patina on the motto and border edge. The backside retains most of
its original plated finish, which is aged, tarnished, soiled and has minor
bubbling under the plated finish. This buckle has the short type, welded,
belt catch loop. The buckle is marked with the Assmann logo design above
the letters, “A & S,” as well as the RZM stamp above the number
“17,” and Ges.Gesch. A very sound and worthy representative
example with lots of detail still present. Vg-. $75.00

| Early Luftwaffe,
Droop Tail, Enlisted Man, Stamped Pebbled Aluminum Buckle |
 |
3GU-27. Stamped aluminum buckle with overall pebbled finish.
Embossed, early style, droop tail Luftwaffe eagle and swastika within an
oak leaf wreath on a pebbled background. The buckle is moderately soiled;
the eagle and swastika is very heavily worn; the pebbled background behind
the eagle and the surrounding wreath also exhibit heavy signs of wear, as
does the remaining pebbled area of the front of the buckle. The backside
exhibits moderate to heavy signs of age, wear, as well as light soil from
actual use. There is a small nick on the bottom inside edge of the buckle,
(nothing serious). It has been my experience that the majority of these
early style buckles show heavy signs of age and wear. A very worthy
representative example with lots of character. Unmarked. Good+. $95.00
