RLB, Door Plaque (Reichsluftschutzbundes) National Air Raid Protection Union

Approximately 3-1/4-inch wide x 4-3/4-inch high, thin stamped metal plaque bearing the RLB, (Reichsluftschutzbundes), logo design depicting highly embossed RLB letters and swastika superimposed on a stylized starburst background; the letter, “L-S,” and “Hauswart,” (Luftschutz House Warden), are embossed below the logo design. The plaque has matte silver painted finish and the recesses of the lettering and swastika are painted Luftschutz dark blue and has a light lacquer protective finish; the outside border has a raised edge to give the plaque strength and each corner has a raised hole for a nail or screw. These plaques were designed to be affixed to a door advising tenants where the “House Air Raid” Warden resided. This example exhibits light signs of age and has a few nicks, scuffs and scratches on the silver painted finish, (nothing at all serious), and has minor light bends, (one on the moderate side, as can be seen in the larger image), along some parts of the border edge; the raised lettering retains, at least, 99% of their original dark blue painted finish. A very nice, large and impressive looking piece of German RLB memorabilia. A recent acquisition as part of a WW2 U.S. Veterans souvenir accumulation. Near excellent. $95.00 SOLD
Porcelain Sign, “Abort,” (Toilet). Removed From A German Train During WW2

Approximately 4-1/8-inch wide x 2-inch wide, thick, convex metal sign with white porcelain background and black porcelain lettering, “Abort,” which translates to, “toilet.” Each corner has a hole for affixing to the appropriate surface. The front of the sign retains approximately 98.9% of its original porcelain finish with some very tiny and insignificant scratches and scuffs from handling, as well as most of the original train soil. The concave backside retains at least   95% of its original porcelain finish and has an ink stamped makers name, that is not completely legible. A recent acquisition as part of a WW2 U.S. Veterans souvenir accumulation. Very Unique. Vg+. $42.00 SOLD
Porcelain Sign For Emergency Brake Handle Use, Removed From A German Train During WW2

Approximately 5-12-inch wide x 3-3/4-inch high, thick, convex metal sign with red porcelain background and white porcelain lettering, “Notbremse Handgriff nur bei Gefhar ziehen! Jeder Missbrauch Wird Bestraft,” which latterly translates to, “Emergency brake handle only with danger pull! Everyone abuses is punished.” Each corner has a hole for affixing to the appropriate surface. The front of the sign retains approximately 99% of its original porcelain finish with some very tiny and insignificant scratches and scuffs from handling, as well as some of the original train soil. The concave backside retains at least   95% of its original porcelain finish and has an ink stamped makers name, “Rhenania.” A recent acquisition as part of a WW2 U.S. Veterans souvenir accumulation. Very Unique. Vg+. $65.00 SOLD

Combat Belt Tip

1GMIS-2. 1-3/4-inch wide x 1-1/4-inch high stamped steel belt device, with a hooked tongue. This item is sewn onto one end of the leather combat belt and attaches to the loop on the back of the combat, (or any), belt buckle. Maker marked and war dated. If you are restoring or making a belt, you need this piece to be able to use the WW2 German buckle. Original gray green paint with minor spots of surface rust from storage. Unused. Near excellent. Only have a few in this condition. $10.00

WW2 German 2 Mark Coin Bearing Hindenburg’s Head on the Obverse and German Eagle & Swastika on the Reverse
Hindenburg2MarkCoin.JPG (49977 bytes) 1GMIS-3. This 1-inch diameter, 90% silver coin was produced in Nazi Germany from 1936 to 1939 and was in circulation throughout the war. As the war progressed, silver became an important wartime commodity as it was used in the manufacture of precision instruments, electrical applications, photographic film, film paper, photo developing, etc.; Silver was eliminated in German coinage after 1939 and during WW2 the German population horded these coins, which also became a sought after souvenir for U.S. and Allied soldiers. This type German 2 Mark silver coin is fairly common and at least one, or several, can be found in a WW2 U.S war veteran’s souvenir accumulation. The one’s we offer are those that were in circulation and brought back as war souvenirs by U.S. veterans. They are in used condition; Hindenburg’s head, the lettering, dates, as well as, the eagle & swastika can be clearly seen and are not excessively worn; you will receive one, as good, or better than the one shown in the image. Early Nazi Germany 5 Mark Coin Bearing Hindenburg’s Head on the Obverse and the German National Eagle, Without Swastika on the Reverse

German 5m x 7cm Bandage Sealed In Original Package

Outside of packet marked, “6 Mullbinden 5m x 7cm hergestellt: Feb 1940, (other packets marked with different dates), Wehrkreistanitatspark XI Hannover, (other packets marked with different cities), Nur heir offnen.” Each side is stamped “M.B. 5x7.” Excellent for stuffing a first aid kit or displaying with a personal item collection. Original, Two Sided, WW2 German Stamped Metal Pioneer, (Engineer), Regimental Standard for WW2 German Elastolin & Lineol Composition Toy Soldier Standard Bearer

1GMIS-6. Approximately 1-5/8-inch wide x 1-5/8-inch high stamped metal regimental flag, on 3-7/8-inch stiff wire staff. The flag has a black and cream-colored lithographed design on both sides, exactly depicting a WW2 German Pioneer, (Engineer), Regimental Standard; the metal is stamped so as to appear, as the flag is feruled and flying in the wind. The flag is designed to be held by an Elastolin or Lineol composition toy soldier standard-bearer. The lithographed design exhibits extremely minor age and insignificant rub marks from being in a box, stored with other standards for many years, (nothing of a serious nature). Beautifully constructed and impressive looking. Very Scarce. Excellent+. $25.00

Efka Cigarette Rolling Paper, 50 Sheets – Green Colored Graphics

The exterior of the package has green colored period graphics depicting, camels carrying large boxes marked, “Efka;” the Egyptian Pyramids and the Egyptian Sphinx. German writing translates, “50-sheets; exclusive manufacture, Efka-Werk, Trossingen; finest cigarette paper; unglued; best raw materials; snow-white fire. Blanket Beater For The German RAD, (Reichsarbeitsdienst), National Labor Service

1GMIS-8. A whip like instrument used to beat dust and vermin from blankets and clothing. Constructed with seven, thick, leather strips, (two of the leather strips are missing), approximately 15-inches long, that are tacked onto a 12-inch long, turned oak handle with a twine cord going through a hole near the end. The handle is stamped, “RAD,” (Reichsarbeitsdienst), it's also stamped with another name and date that is not completely legible, it looks like, “??ehrnger Coburg 193?” The leather is supple except for some delicate dryness, on a few strips, where they attach to the handle. The handle exhibits moderate scratches, nicks, dings and soil consistent with actual use. An interesting but ominous, piece of early German RAD memorabilia. About Vg. $59.00

A Very Unusual WW2 German Ink Bottle

1GMIS-9. A thick, clear, bottle with a black plastic screw-on top. The bottle is actually shaped like a stylized shoe; the front being the main ink reservoir and the heel designed to be filled, by tipping the bottle, allowing the pen to be dipped into just the right amount of ink. The paper label, which is white and olive green in color, bears a Viking-like person for its logo design and is marked “Fullhalter-Tinte,” as well as, other, very tiny ,indecipherable, German words. The label is worn, chipped, scratched and soiled from age and actual use, however; approximately 90% of the original label still remains. The bottle looks dramatically better in person than in the image. A very unique inkbottle. A WW2 veteran’s souvenir, taken from the desk of some German official. Vg. $15.00

Double Edge Razor Blades, Weltfunk Klinge, (World Radio Blades) - In Original Box

1GMIS-10. 10-WW2 vintage, German, double edge razor blades, individually wrapped in their original cardboard box depicting wonderful period graphics. The same graphic is on the front and backside. Edges of the box are marked, “Deutsche Wertarbeit, Made In Germany, Weltfunkklinge 0.08 m/m. 20 Klingen.” The “Made in Germany” mark would allow the product to be exported to other countries. One end indicates “20” blades, however, there are 10-blades in the package and it clearly cannot hold 20-blades, (?); they must be counting each edge as a blade. A great piece for a WW2 German soldiers personal item display. Light shelf storage age. Unused. Vg. $12.00

Military Issue Eyeglass Frames For Wearing  Prescription Lenses Under The Gas Mask, With Original Manufacturers Tag & Glassine Envelope

1GMS-11 / 1GCE-2.  Light gray colored, lightweight, metal eyeglass frames with 1-1/2-inch diameter openings ready to accept prescription lenses. The frames have a, very thin, adjustable, gray cotton strap on each side that is designed to be worn around each ear; the close fit of the gas mask helps stabilize the glasses and the thinness of the cotton strap does not interfere with the airtight seal that is needed around the face. This specimen is in excellent unused condition and has never been fitted with lenses. A, diamond shaped, paper makers label is hung from the frame it’s marked with the makers trademark and the following words, “G..Rodenstock, Munchen,Prima Hartnickel;  the backside of the label is marked, “Kat. No., Norm. No. 6660.” Also included is the original, matching, glassine envelop that came with the glasses; the envelope is tattered and has rips, tears and holes but is mostly intact and will display quite well; the envelope is marked with the makers trademark and, “Normal-Nr.6660, Vorschriftsmassige Militar-Masken-Brille, Optische Werke G. Rodenstock, Munchen 15.” Ready to accept your prescription lenses. Envelope rates about Vg- and the frames are Excellent+. $35.00

Cardboard Feldpost Box For Sending A Small Package

1GMIS-12. Official German Feldpost cardboard box suitable for packing and sending small items. 5-7/8-inch wide x 3-1/2-inch high x 1-inch deep, constructed of wartime cardboard, lid exhibits printed area for “Absender,” (sender), “Feldpost, (Army Post Office), and “Feldpost Nr.” (Army Post Office Number). Top and bottom of box intact, appears to be unused, except for light pencil impression of writing on the first line in the “Feldpost” area, (looks like someone tried to erase the writing). A really unique piece for a WW2 German soldiers personal item display. Light shelf storage age. Unused. Near excellent. $15.00

German Hand Ink Stamp, “Allgemeine Orts Krankenhalle fur den Kreis Helmstedt” - RARE
HandStampHospital.JPG (42249 bytes) 1GMIS-13. Approximately 1-3/8-inch diameter x 3-1/4-inch high, official, red painted, hard wood, WW2 German, hand ink stamp. The bottom of the stamp is constructed of semi-hard rubber that has been precisely carved and incised to depict a very close variation of the German Red Cross eagle with a swastika on its chest and a snake entwined in the eagle’s talons; the number “2” is centered below the snake. The central design is circumscribed with the following wording, “Allgemeine Orts Krankenhalle fur den Kreis Helmstedt;” which roughly translates, “General Town Hospital for the District of Helmstedt.” The top of the handle has a small aluminum disk bearing the makers information, “H. Duwel, Braunschweig,” and it has a round head nail extruding from the top front of the handle to quickly locate the proper position when using the stamp. The wood handle exhibits light to moderate signs of actual use; the paint is worn to base wood where it would naturally wear during use; there is minor ink residue on the red paint. The actual rubber stamp is in excellent condition; the outside circle of the stamp has two indentations that can be seen in the image, which do not prove to be much of a problem. The stamp provides a clear and highly detailed image. Original German hand ink stamps are quite rare.  A unique piece of WW2 German memorabilia. Vg. $375.00 SOLD

Helmstedt is where U.S. checkpoint “Alpha” was located, on the border between East Germany and West Germany, throughout the Cold War and Helmstedt is presently the sister city of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Engraved Steel Hand Stamp For Wax Sealing Official German Documents, “Flieger Horst Kommandantur Furstenfeldbruck”
HandStampFlyersField.JPG (28580 bytes) 1GMIS-14. Approximately 1-3/8-inch diameter x 4-1/2-inch high, official, black painted, hard wood, (looks like oak), WW2 German, hand ink stamp. The bottom of the stamp is a 3/8-inch thick x 1-3/8-inch diameter steel disk, which is machined and deeply engraved depicting the WW2 German national eagle and swastika in the center; the eagle and swastika is circumscribed with the following wording, “Flieger Horst Kommandantur Furstenfeldbruck,” which roughly translates, “Flyers Refuge, (airbase??), Commandant Furstenfeldbruck;” (Furstenfeldbruck is an ancient Bavarian town). The front of the stamp handle has a small aluminum disk bearing the makers information, “Albert Waltner, Stempelfabrik, Dresden-A; the disk also serves as a guide to quickly locate the proper position when using the stamp; there is also a six-pointed star, on the top of the steel disk, that indicates the proper position of the stamp, as well. The design of the stamp is unusual, in as much as, the steel face is smooth and the lettering and design are deeply engraved into the face of the stamp and is designed to impress a wax seal onto official WW2 German documents and is only intended to make a wax seal. The wood handle exhibits heavy signs of actual use; the paint is worn to base wood throughout the handle, maybe 45%of the original black paint still remains; the face of the stamp shows moderate signs of age and use, as well as moderate surface scratches on its smooth face. This is a steel stamp; there is no rubber on this stamp. Original German hand stamps are quite rare; this example, with a very unique purpose is ULTRA-RARE.  A very unique piece of WW2 German memorabilia. Vg. $425.00 SOLD

NOTE: Furstenfeldbruck is presently the sister city of Wichita Falls, Texas; the Furstenfeldbruck Air Base, when occupied by the U.S. AAF,  played an important roll in the Berlin Airlift 1948-1949.
