Waffen SS Its Uniforms, Insignia and Equipment - In Dust Jacket.  First Edition, by D.S.V. Fosten & R.J. Marrion. Published in 1971 by the Almark Publishing Co., Ltd., Middlesex, England. 6-inch wide x 8-1/2-inch high, hard covers with illustrated dust jacket. 112 pages of descriptive text and hundreds of black & white photos and illustrations, as well as, several pages of full color plates, of WW2 German SS uniforms and insignia. An excellent reference for SS volunteer collar tabs, cufftitles and sleeve shields, the latter of which, are represented in full color. This is an extremely handy reference that I still use frequently. Another, vintage, classic reference that was, pretty much, all that there was for us to study in the early days, that’s now a collectors item in its own right. Copyright 1976 & 1993 by Chelsea House Publishers, Broomall, Pennsylvania.9-inch wide x 12-1/4-inch high format, hard covers beautifully illustrated dust jacket. 319 pages with over 550 photographs, 270 in beautiful full color. The books presents a visual compendium of all forms of propaganda used by the Allied and Axis powers in WWII; photos, posters, comic books, magazine covers, paintings, leaflets, postage stamps, newspapers, post cards, sheet music and the movies. The dust cover is in excellent condition exhibiting very minor signs of shelf wear, no rips, tears or other damage. The exterior covers, binding and interior pages are all excellent+ and in like new condition. Used but in like new condition. 3MR-41. Uniforms, of the SS, Volume 3, SS Verfugungstruppe, SS-VT, (SS Special Purpose Troops), 1933-1939,
by Andrew Mollo. Third edition 1991, published by Windrow & Greene, London. 10-3/4-inch x 8-1/2-inch, hard cover oblong format with black and white dust jacket. 101 pages with numerous black & white photos, as well as, full size illustrations showing the complex details of selected SS rank insignia, shoulder and collar insignia, cuff titles, flags, swords, hats, uniforms, buckles, armbands, flags, gorget’s, etc. The SS-VT was the transitional name given to the militarized formations of the SS during the early 1930’s; the term continued to be used to describe this armed force until early in the Second World War when the name was changed to the Waffen-SS, (Armed SS). This book is a quality reprint of one of the bibles for information in the early days; it was the only place you could find this type of information and it still proves to be an extremely handy reference that you will use over and over again. The dust jacket is in Vg+ condition exhibiting light to moderate surface wear, scratches and scuffs from light handling and shelf wear, (nothing serious). There are two tears on the dust jacket, one on the binding side and one on the right front edge, (2-1/2in. & 2in. respectively), which have been repaired on the inside of the jacket, with proper archival tape, to prevent further damage, (nothing serious and not actually noticeable at first glance). The exterior covers are excellent+, the binding is tight and interior pages are excellent+. A definite,” need to have” book for your German militaria library. The book is used but in like new condition. Very nice and highly informative.  $24.00 PHOTO

Uniforms, of the SS, Volume 2, Germanische-SS, 1940-1945, by Hugh Page Taylor. Third edition 1991, published by Windrow & Greene, London. 10-3/4-inch x 8-1/2-inch, hard cover oblong format with black and white dust jacket. 81 pages with numerous black & white photos, as well as, full size illustrations showing the complex details of selected SS Germanic Battalions, (Dutch, Flemish, Norwegian, Danish Schalburg Corps), rank insignia, shoulder and collar insignia, badges, cuff titles, flags, hats, uniforms, buckles, flags, etc. This book is a quality reprint of one of the bibles for information in the early days; it was the only place you could find this type of information and it still proves to be an extremely handy reference that you will use over and over again. The dust jacket is in Vg condition exhibiting light to moderate surface wear, scratches and scuffs from light handling and shelf wear, (nothing serious). The corners and edges of the dust jacket exhibit paper chips and wear, as well as, two short tears, one on the top and one on the bottom edge, (nothing serious). The exterior covers are excellent+, the binding is tight and interior pages are excellent+. A definite,” need to have” book for your German militaria library. The book is used but in like new condition. Very nice and highly informative.  $24.00 PHOTO

First edition; English language edition copyright 1989 by the United States Naval Institute, Annapolis, Maryland. 7-inch wide x 10-1/4-inch high format, hard covers with illustrated dust jacket. 442 pages with nearly 350 photographs of Japanese aces and aircraft, as well as 100 line drawings of Japanese aircraft showing their markings and paint schemes. Individual histories of scores of Japanese pilots, with their photographs, are included. There is an index of Japanese fighter pilots killed in action; an index of Japanese Naval fighter pilots by flying class and lists of major battles with statistics; plus an index by pilots name. This book is a very important reference tool for anyone interested in the Pacific war or fighter aviation. The dust cover is in near excellent condition exhibiting very light surface scuffs and scratches from light handling and shelf wear, no rips, tears or other damage. The exterior covers, binding and interior pages are all excellent+ and in like new condition. The previous owner has inscribed and signed his name on the backside of the front flyleaf. Second Edition, Revised March 1, 1943; written by Walter Pitkin, Jr., Published by Penguin Books, Inc., for the Infantry Journal, Inc., New York & Washington. 4-1/8-inch wide x 7-inch high, pocketbook size format, illustrated soft covers, wartime pulp paper pages. 223 pages of black & white photos and silhouette illustrations of American and Japanese military aircraft. Accompanying text provides size, weight, armament, and recognition points of the aircraft presented.. A very popular home front book used by official and unofficial airplane spotters, as well as use by various branches of the U.S. military services. This specimen is very good condition; it is tight and clean; the exterior exhibits minor signs of age from handling and storage; the covers are intact; the binding is tight the interior pages are clean and have yellowed from age. The first several pages and the front cover are creased in the upper right corner from being bumped or dropped, (nothing serious); otherwise, the book is in dramatically better condition the normally found. Used. Vg. $10.00 PHOTO

3MR-45. U.S. Army & Marine Camouflage Colors.
 By Lane Wilcox & Larry S. Smith, Copyright 1972, information was reprinted from parts of the War Department Engineer Field Manual FM 5-21 Dated October 7, 1942 and compiled for the Modeler’s Journal Publications. 8-1/2-inch wide x 11-inch high, illustrated paper covers, 17 pages, of photos, illustrations and text relative to camouflage theory, patterns, techniques and colors. One page has twelve actual paint chip squares that are glued onto the page. A very handy monograph. This booklet has a black “tape” binding, it’s in overall very good condition, tight, clean and intact; the exterior exhibits extremely minor signs of age from handling and storage; the interior front cover has the original 1972 price, ($3.95), is hand written in the upper left corner; the interior pages are clean and undamaged. 7-inch wide x 10-inch high format, paper covers, over 126 pages which include 32 full color pages illustrating approved wartime insignia of the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Air Corps, U.S. Navy, USMC and the U.S. Coast Guard. Also included are colored illustrations of Army divisional patches and over 300 beautiful,  full colored, squadron insignia of the Army Air Forces, Navy and Marines, as well as, many fantastic, nostalgic, wartime advertisements. Be sure to add this important research reference to your library. Some of these insignia are quite obscure and can only be easily found in this wartime publication. A tremendous research reference for the novice or the seasoned collector. You will find yourself referring to this publication over and over again, as we do. A very important reference for your military library. The covers are still about 90% attached; no creases; no big paper chips; some dog-eared corners; the binding has most of its paper intact. The exterior is light to moderately aged and has minor soil from years of shelf storage; the interior is near excellent. This specimen has not been heavily used or abused.
